Preventative Maintenance & Monitoring

There is no better time to deal with a problem than before it becomes one

Corporate networks have become complex unstructured entities that require constant monitoring and maintenance. Unfortunately monitoring of this nature is often outside the expertise of most organisations resulting in preventative maintenance becoming the most neglected aspects of network ownership.

To address this issue Search Technology offers a variety of cost effective Preventative Maintenance and Monitoring programs to suite all environments and budgets. Utilising a combination of onsite analysis, automated alerting and remote access we can provide comprehensive monitoring and maintenance to minimise network disruptions and ensure your network is constantly achieving optimal performance.

For organisations that have a legislative reporting requirement, we provide formal reporting and declarations of compliance and effectiveness.

Reasons why a business must instigate a preventative maintenance program:

  • Maintain optimal system performance
Eliminate unnecessary costs related to premature systems replacement.
Avoiding lost productivity due to network “down time”.
Ensure critical business data is safe from loss or corruption.

Preventative maintenance programs are tailored to each client’s individual requirements, the frequency, actions and methods of interaction all documented and agreed to before the program commences.

Search Technology offers a variety of tailored maintenance solutions, including extremely cost effective remote and automated maintenance services.

An example On-Site Preventative maintenance program may include:

  • Approx 3 hours on site once a month (depending on size of network)
Eliminate unnecessary costs related to premature systems replacement.
    Backup procedures tested and modified
    Backup reports examined
    Backup restoration tested (quarterly)
Anti-Virus definition tables checked and updated
    Anti-Intrusion software updated
    User Accounts administered
    User Licenses Audited
    Server capacity and integrity tested
All required service packs and updates installed
    Event Logs examined
Firewall and other security logs examined
    Minor issue resolution
PMP results documented and presented to client

Preventative Maintenance Program agreements are typically purchased for a 12-month period. Upon purchasing a PMP agreement a schedule is then drafted and agreed to by both parties. The schedule contains a “statement of works” outlining activities to be conducted by Search Technology and when they are to be conducted.

A detailed report is then compiled and provided at the completion of each monthly audit. Any issues identified through the course of the audit are documented and presented to the client. Costs associated with additional work outside the specified “scope of work” are not included in the PMP agreement and are charged at the standard hourly rate. Hardware/Software is not covered under the PMP agreement.
